What does “Moyen” mean? A moyen is basically a Poodle term meaning a very large miniature poodle or a very small standard poodle. They are generally between about 16-20 inches at the shoulder, and about 18-35 pounds. It is the 4th size of a poodle (Toy, Miniature, Moyen, Standard – some countries even have Giant), but moyen size is not yet recognized by the AKC. It IS, however, recognized in many countries outside the US. Moyen is only a description for the size of Purebred Poodles, not mixes. Moyen means “medium” in French.

Personality-wise, they are spectacular. They have the more calm demeanor of a standard, in a really portable, perfect size package. Super intelligent, funny, agile, loyal, and affectionate are qualities that have been passed on in the Moyen Bernedoodle.
