The Great Bernese is a large hybrid dog, a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Great Pyrenees, known for being gentle, loyal and a calm companion and often exhibits a majestic appearance with a dense, tricolor coat and a sturdy, powerful build. This breed is known for being protective without being overly aggressive, making it a good family dog that is great with children and other pets. This breed is capable of taking on a bear or mountain lion and makes a great guardian dog for the country or mountain living but also does very well in neighborhoods with yards, due to the Bernese Mountain Dog in them.
