3 Sizes: Standard, Mini & Tiny
A bernedoodle is a cross between a Bernese mountain dog and a poodle. They come in different sizes, depending on their parents' sizes. There is the standard bernedoodle, which is a cross between a standard poodle and a Bernese mountain dog. A mini bernedoodle is a cross between a miniature poodle and a Bernese mountain dog, and a tiny bernedoodle is a cross between a toy poodle and a mini bernedoodle.

Hypoallergenic
A bernedoodle's coat is considered hypoallergenic, which is an inherited trait from it's poodle parent. This means that they either don't shed or they shed very little. This is great for those who suffer from allergies or who can be allergic to dog hair.

Mix, Not a "Mutt"
Bernedoodles are a mix of two breeds; they are not mutts. Mutts are dogs that are usually a mix of more than two breeds and these breeds tend to be unknown and indiscriminately chosen. Bernedoodles have purebred parents specifically chosen for this breed of dog.

Tend to Live Longer Than Bernese Mountain Dogs
Bernese mountain dogs are considered a large dog breed. Thus, their average lifespan is only between six and eight years. However, bernedoodles' average lifespan is between 12 and 15 years, and even longer for minis or tiny bernedoodles. This is good news for pet owners who hate facing their pet's death.

Smart & Easy to Train
Poodles are known for their intelligence, and Bernese mountain dogs are working dogs. This makes them respond to training very well as they want to work and please you. They also make great therapy dogs, too. They are sweet, loyal, and lively. With attention, your bernedoodle will be the perfect companion for you.
Bernedoodles were first introduced as a breed in 2003. Since then, they have grown immensely in popularity as great companions and family dogs. Contact JM Kennels in Johnstown with your questions, or visit our up and coming page to see our new bernedoodle litters today!
